Citation V/Ultra

One of the most preferred small corporate jets is the award winning Citation V/Ultra. Cessna decided to build on to enhance the earlier Citation V with a more powerful and technologically advanced version of their very successful light jet. Cessna's new model was named "Best Business Jet" by Flying magazine in 1994. Production began in 1993 and ended in 1999. During that period, there were a little over 300 Citation V/Ultra aircraft produced, both for civilian and military use.

The Citation V/Ultra has an overall length of 48 feet 11 inches. The cabin is 17.7 feet long, 4.9 feet wide and 4.8 feet high. This aircraft comfortably seats 7 passengers and includes a full lavatory and a partial galley. The Citation V/Ultra has been one of the best selling business jets in the charter industry. It has an outstanding record of safety and reliability. It is a leading performer in its class and is versatile enough to use for a short trip from Boston to Washington D.C. or a mid-range trip from Miami to Dallas.

This aircraft has a range of 1,900 miles and a certified service ceiling of 45,000 feet. Flying at altitudes above 35,000 feet has its advantages. Not only is the air thinner and calmer, creating a much smoother flight, but there is less air traffic at higher altitudes, making it safer to fly. As an added bonus, there is less resistance at higher altitudes which translates into better fuel economy. With an average cruising speed of 495 mph, passengers can get to their destination quickly.

Several important modifications to the Citation V were incorporated into the newly designed Citation V/Ultra. First, there was an upgrade to two, more powerful, Pratt & Whitney JT15D-5D engines that produce 2,900 pounds of thrust and significantly improve overall performance. Next, the outdated circular gages and control panel were replaced by a technologically advanced Honeywell Primus 1000 EFIS glass cockpit. The new cockpit allows the crew of 2 to take full advantage of computer technology. There are 3 digital monitors that relay all flight data in a clear and comprehensive display, keeping the pilot and co-pilot in complete control of the aircraft.

Both the busy executive and the discriminating traveler will love flying on the Citation V/Ultra. The crew will make sure you have a very pleasant and memorable journey. You can relax in the plush seats and maybe have a sandwich or snack from the galley. There is plenty of room to stretch out your legs and, if you are so inclined, you can even catch up on some work. Chartering a small jet is very convenient. It allows you to avoid the hassles of the big commercial airports. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
